Connect Garmin and Sync Automatically

FitKeep can import Garmin activities automatically so your training history stays up to date.

How Garmin sync works

After you connect your Garmin account, new activities are pulled into FitKeep automatically.

Connect Garmin in FitKeep

  1. Open Settings → Integrations
  2. Find Garmin Connect™ and select Connect, then Continue to Garmin Connect™
  3. On Garmin’s authorization screen, turn on the “Historical Data” permission yourself — it is off by default, and FitKeep cannot enable it for you. With it on, we import your last 30 days right away so you see data immediately. Leave it off and only new activities will sync from then on.
  4. Authorize FitKeep in Garmin
  5. Return to FitKeep and confirm the connection

Importing more than 30 days of history

Garmin only lets us fetch your last 30 days of activities, so FitKeep cannot automatically pull in your full back catalog. To bring your entire history into FitKeep, export it from Garmin yourself and upload the FIT files:

  1. Request a full data export from Garmin Connect using their official guide: How to export your data from Garmin Connect
  2. Locate the FIT files in the export Garmin sends you
  3. Upload the FIT files to FitKeep

FitKeep automatically skips duplicates, so it is safe to upload activities that were already synced.

Watch the first import

While FitKeep pulls in your last 30 days, the Garmin card in Settings → Integrations shows how many days have synced so far. When it’s done, it says “Historical sync complete”.

Re-pull your last 30 days

Once the first import has finished, the Garmin card has a Sync Last 30 Days button. Use it if you think an activity from the past month is missing. FitKeep automatically skips activities that are already in your account.

Forgot to turn on Historical Data?

If you left the Historical Data permission off, the Garmin card says so, and only new activities sync. To import your last 30 days after all, select Disconnect on the Garmin card, then connect again and turn the permission on this time. Activities already in FitKeep stay where they are.

If new activities are not appearing

  • Make sure Garmin integration is still connected in your settings
  • Confirm the activity exists in Garmin Connect
  • Wait a short time and refresh your activity list. New activities show as Processing until FitKeep has finished reading them
  • If an activity shows as Failed, open it and select Try again
  • Reconnect Garmin if authorization has expired
