What's New in FitKeep
October 2026
More Private by Default
- Coach conversation titles are now encrypted at rest, like the messages inside them
- FitKeep no longer stores the IP address or browser details of your sign-in sessions, and expired sessions are deleted every hour
- Deleting your account now also disconnects Garmin, revokes FitKeep’s access to your Google Drive, and cancels any of your activities still waiting to be processed
- Our privacy-friendly page analytics no longer record page titles, search terms, or the full address of the page you came from. See the Privacy Policy for details
Smaller Fixes
- The activity list and dashboard now show the time and pace your device recorded, so they match the activity page instead of counting the clock time from start to finish
- Dialogs can be closed with the Escape key and keep keyboard focus inside them, and more of the app works with a screen reader
September 2026
Processing Happens on Our Servers
- New activities are processed in the background on FitKeep’s servers, so you no longer need to keep a browser tab open while an upload, Garmin sync, or Google Drive import finishes
- If processing fails, FitKeep retries automatically. Activities that still fail are marked Failed in your activity list, and the activity page has a Try again button
Search Your Activities
- A search box on the activity list finds activities by name, original filename, or device
Best Efforts by Period
- Filter best efforts by all time, this year, the last 12 months, one of your recent calendar years, or a custom date range
- Each distance page now leads with your personal best, followed by your next-best times and how far each is behind it
AI Coach Can Plan With Your Goals
- The coach can compare your training week by week or month by month, for questions like “Am I getting fitter than last year?”
- Ask it to create, adjust, or archive a goal and it drafts the change for you to review. Nothing changes until you confirm
- New conversations start with a few suggested questions, and the coach shows how many questions are left in a conversation
Dark Mode
- FitKeep now has a dark theme. Choose Light, Dark, or System from the footer of any page or from Settings → Appearance
- System follows your device’s setting. When you’re logged in, your choice is saved to your account
Other Improvements
- Settings → Applications now shows the MCP address to paste into your AI assistant
- Lap cadence for runs and walks is now shown in steps per minute, matching the cadence chart
August 2026
AI Coach (Early Access)
- Chat with an AI coach about your own training at Coach. It looks up your activities, best efforts, and goals to answer, and links back to the ones it mentions
- The coach is an early-stage upgrade that is switched on per account. If you’d like to try it, email hello@fitkeep.cloud and ask. We’re opening it up gradually, so not every request can be granted yet. See Chat with the AI Coach
Add FIT Files from Google Drive
- Connect Google Drive and pick the
.fit files you want to add, without downloading them first - FitKeep can only read the files you pick, nothing else in your Drive. See Add FIT Files from Google Drive
Connect FitKeep to Your AI Assistant (MCP)
- FitKeep now has a built-in MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, so you can connect Claude or another MCP-compatible AI assistant directly to your FitKeep data
- Ask your assistant about your activities, best efforts, and goals in plain English, or have it pull a written summary of a specific activity — access is read-only and scoped to your own account. You can see and revoke connected assistants under Settings → Applications
- Any FitKeep account can connect for free — see Connect an AI Assistant with MCP to get started
Best Efforts Grouped by Sport
- The Best Efforts page now buckets your activities into sport groups (foot, bike, swim, winter, other) so a fast bike split no longer dominates every distance next to your running efforts
- “All activities” is still available as an explicit choice, and the dashboard’s best-effort cards now show which sport each PR came from
Garmin Activity Types, Split and Refined
- Garmin activity types are now split into a primary sport and sub-sport (for example, “Running” and “Trail Running”), giving more precise filtering across activities synced from Garmin
- Activities generated with AI assistance now show a small icon in the activity list
June 2026
Duplicate Activity Detection
- FitKeep now spots activities that slipped past the usual deduplication check — if two uploads share the same start time, they are flagged on a new Settings › Data review page
- Compare the activities side by side and delete the copy you do not need
- Inspect an on-demand raw diff between two FIT files to see exactly what differs
Help Center
- A new help center is available with step-by-step guides on activity details, best efforts, Garmin sync, goals, heart rate zones, and your data
Activity Editing
- Edit an activity’s name and type directly from the activity detail page using the pencil icon next to the title
- Best-effort distance links now take you straight to the corresponding best efforts page
Faster Activity Charts
- Activity charts now load noticeably faster for long outings — a multi-hour trail run with tens of thousands of GPS points that previously froze the page for several seconds now renders immediately
Step Length Chart
- Running activities now include a step length chart alongside pace, cadence, heart rate, and elevation
Goal History & Date Filtering
- Goal detail pages now show a recurring history chart so you can see how many weeks or months you have hit your target in a row
- The best efforts page now has a date range filter so you can compare efforts within any time window

January 2026
Heart Rate Zones, Trail Charts & Best Effort Deep-Dives
- Heart rate zones now break down on every activity so you can see exactly how much time you spent in each zone
